Client: Voodoo Glow Skulls
Category: Print

The ska/punk greats Voodoo Glow Skulls needed a layout that would fit the more serious tone of their recent record. Not having anything in mind Larson came up with a gritty pamphlet style booklet. The book was ntentionally made to look as if it would be found alongside a Southern California desert road, the illustrations have both a nostalgic yet timely presence to them.

Layered with context, the illustrations go deeper than the more literal interpretations through conventional photography. Picking up on their Southern California hispanic roots, images were found in a variety of locations, from the local bodega to the US national archives. A mixture of typestyles were also used as a visual cue which takes the listener back to an emotionally charged time in both the historical and modern context.
